Yoga Playlist: A Mother's Blessing
In the lead up to Mother’s Day I am drawn to reflect on the final weeks before the birth of our second daughter Nina.
I slow right down and start to embrace more mantra and breath in my practice on the mat, savouring the final days of the intimate relationship that I share with our unborn daughter.
During this time I start to put together a playlist for her birth. The sweet music and mantra gives me a beautiful anchor while riding the waves of labour.
I share this playlist with students in my classes and am now with our Mukti community to honour Mother’s Day and the role that we share in our lives as lover, nurturer and protector.
The first mantra, Puta Mata Ki Asis, is a beautiful prayer that embodies the purest intentions that a mother has for her child. It speaks of the beauty of a life that is devoted to meditation on The Divine. The vibration from chanting this mantra passes on from Mother to Child and fosters deep peace, happiness and unconditional love.
This playlist goes for 1 hour 25 minutes, perfect for a 90 minute practice or on repeat for labour ;)
